We are sad to announce that on April 6, 2022, at the age of 80, Kathryn Gay Yates of Purlear, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Cooper and Lavaughn Cooper; her stepmother Bervia Cooper; her children, Janessa Yates and David Yates; and her brothers, Robert and David Cooper.
She is survived by: her husband Bryant Yates; her sisters, Mary Ellen Shumate of East Bend, Gail Byers (Herley) of Purlear, Tammie Cooper of Purlear and Jennie Brooks (Roy Solona) of Purlear; her brother-in-law Mike Yates (Teresa); her grandson Jared; her sister Bobbie Burke; and also Donna Simpson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and special friends.
