He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Woodie; his son Jerry Richard Woodie, Jr. of Purlear; his grandchildren, Braden Woodie of Purlear and Ella Brook Woodie of Purlear; his brother James Alter "Jim" Woodie, Jr. (Sue) of Purlear; and his stepchildren, Kenneth Randy Byers of Millers Creek and Kimberly Renee Hoke (Brian) of Hickory. He is also survived by one great granddaughter; and five step-grandchildren.
