He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Summerlin Shoun; his daughters, Karen Yates of Ferguson and Norma Jean Patrick of Wilkesboro; and his grandsons, Kevin Nunnery (Elizabeth) of Millers Creek, Paul Patrick of Wilkesboro and Brian Yates (Sheena) of Wilkesboro. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
