It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bryant Thomas Yates of Purlear, North Carolina, who passed away on April 11, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Yates and Shirley Matherly Yates; his former wife Kathryn Cooper Yates; his children, Janessa Yates and David Yates; and his sister-in-law Teresa Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Adams Yates; his grandson Jared Yates; and his brother Mike Yates.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Purlear Baptist Church (181 Shingle Gap Rd, Purlear, NC 28665). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at the Purlear Baptist Church Cemetery (181 Shingle Gap Rd, Purlear, NC 28665).
