He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Sanders Solomon Stone and Lonnie Bell Jones Stone; his children, Woody Ernest Mullins, Sr. and Ruby Myers; his granddaughter Jessica Riggins; his siblings, Marvin "Joe" Stone, Eppie Stone, Nancy Wright and Shelby Jean Palos; and his sons-in-law, Pee Wee Wilkerson and Roy Hammock.
He is survived by: his children, J. C. Stone, Jr. (Ruby Mize), Douglas Eugene Stone (Cynthia), Mary Mayberry (Jerry), Shelia Wilkerson, Margaret Hammock and Maggie Kennedy (Phillip). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
