She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Swanson Rowland and Mattie Barker Rowland; her husband Dewey Poteat; and her siblings, Curtis, Claude Rowland, Evelyn Ferguson, Margie Petty and Nancy Matherly.
She is survived by: her cousin Carl Willis'; her son Steve Poteat; her sister Ruth Williams; her brothers-in-law, Charlie Poteat, Reuben Poteat (Janice) and Tony Poteat (Vickie); and her close friends, Judy Carroll, Ola Willis, Charlotte Haymore, Emily, Hannah and Grace Cribb. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
