He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Tatum and Vertie Tatum; his wife Annie "Jeanette" Tatum; his siblings, Brenda Worsham, Vertie Lee Aherron, Duke Tatum, Leonard Tatum and Wayne Tatum; and his brothers-in-law, Haywood "Red" Oakley, Kenneth Oakley and Edd Hassell Oakley.
He is survived by: his sister Odell Carter; and his siblings-in-law, Lounell Talley, Pat Clayton, Tom Oakley and Danny Oakley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
