He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnathan Samuel Talton and Vannie Davis Talton; and his brothers, Frank Talton, George Talton, Sam Talton, Jr. and Bill.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Howell Talton; his children, Bobby Talton of Princeton, Wayne Talton (Lori) of Morgantown, WV, Janet Martin (Edward) of Princeton and Dianne Green (Dave) of Raleigh; his sister Louise Talton Sauls of Selma; his grandchildren, Trey Martin (Anna), Mirinda Phillips (Matt), Dustin Talton, Landon Talton (Becca), Holden Talton, Jason Leach, Jenny Green, Paige Green and Will Green; his great grandchildren, Kaylee Marie Rose, Callie Marie Talton and Rhett Martin Phillips; and his child Christian.
