It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wilbert Linwood Hughes Jr. of Princeton, North Carolina, who passed away on August 25, 2021, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Leon Hughes and Emma Lee Hollowman Hughes; and his sister Brenda Freeman. He is survived by: his close friend Joan Woodard Tyndall; his daughter Melissa Hughes Jackson; his son-in-law Claude Jackson; his son Jerry Paul Moore, Jr.; his stepchildren, Paula Pearce (Mac) and Donnie Norris; his grandchildren, Corrin Jackson, Chandler Jackson, Bryce Moore and Connor Moore; his stepgranddaughters, Brittany, Renee and Melissa; and his brothers, Arthur Hughes and Kenneth Hughes. He is also survived by 8 step great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Princeton High School Football Team.
