She was predeceased by: her parents, Billy T. Whitley and Mary Howell Whitley; and her daughter Heather Philyaw. She is survived by: her husband Chris Philyaw; her sons, Dustin Philyaw, Blake Philyaw, Brett Philyaw and Blaine Philyaw; and her grandchildren, Bentley Hickey, Samantha Philyaw, Kaylee Philyaw, Leighton Hickey, Liam Philyaw and Brynlee Philyaw. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Temple City Church (1250 S Pollock St, Selma, NC 27576). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at the Price Cemetery (49 Vinson Rd, Clayton, NC 27527).
