She was predeceased by: her parents, Thorbjörn Pétursson and Jónína Vilborg Thorbjornsdottir; her husband Harold Clifton McDonald, Sr.; and her brother Benedikt Thor Valsson. She is survived by: her son Harold Clifton McDonald, Jr.; and her siblings, Jón Haukur Valsson, Eyjólfur Valsson, Sverrir Valsson, Örn Valsson, Friðlin Valsdóttir of Iceland, Jóna Vala Valsdóttir of Iceland, Ida Valsdóttir of Iceland and Ína Valsdóttir of Iceland.
Although flowers are welcomed, the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Princeton United Methodist Church, P O Box 116 Princeton, NC 27569.
