He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Flowers Yelverton and Robert Yelverton; and his siblings, Hardy Yelverton, Donna Dupuy and Jerry Yelverton.

He is survived by: his wife Betsy Thomas Yelverton; his daughters, Amanda Gray (Christopher), Ashley Stutts (Josh) and Amy Langston (Mike); his sister Edna Braswell; and his grandchildren, Presley Gray, Allie-Christyn Gray, Maddux Gray, Carlynne Stutts and Nora Stutts.
