Pearl Olive Obituary

Pearl Thompson Brown Olive (March 23, 1925-October 17, 2007) Mrs. Pearl Thompson Brown Olive, 82 of 5278 US 70 West Business Clayton, NC, passed away Wednesday after a period of declining health. Mrs. Olive was a native of Johnston County, a daughter of the late John Richard and Annie Catherine Braswell Thompson. She was predeceased by her husbands, Johnnie Barden Brown and James Clee Olive. Mrs. Olive was a 1942 graduate of Princeton High School and a 1972 graduate of Johnston Community College's nursing program. She was a retired nurse with 15 years of service at Wake Medical Center. She was a longtime member of Little Creek Primitive Baptist Church and was active for many years with the Johnston County Republican Party. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Elders R L Fish, Virgil Davis, Danny Carroll and Bobby Daughtry officiating and eulogy by Mrs. Cookie Pope. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Clayton, NC.

Survivors include her devoted and faithful children, Craig Olive and Jerry Brown of Clayton, Mrs. Gloria B. Creech of Selma, Mrs. Brenda B. Dixon of Browns Summit, Danny G. Brown of Knightdale, Dennis B. Brown of Columbia, SC., Wayne Brown of Holden Beach and Angela Olive of Princeton; sister, Mrs. Ruth T. Tart of Durham and one brother, Earl Thompson of Greenville, NC. In addition, nine grandchildren, April Creech Wilkinson of Clayton, Stephanie Brown of Knightdale, Kristy Murray Jones of Kenly, Amanda Murray of Kenly, Melanie Dixon Nunn of Summerfield, Bryan Dixon of Winston-Salem, Kimberly Dixon Wood of Lake Charles, LA, Summer Brown of Columbia, SC, Derrin Brown of Columbia, SC, and six great-grandchildren, and two K-9 companions; Reagan and Annie. The family also wishes to express deepest appreciation to special caregivers, Martha Godwin, Lilly Whitfield, and Camille Hunter and to Dr. David Meehan and staff, Advantage Hospice and the Johnston County Council on Aging.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be sent to Little Creek Primitive Baptist Church c/o Craig Olive 5278 US 70 West Business, Clayton NC 27520.Family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home from 6pm—9pm on Thursday and at other times at the home.
