With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Barnes Brewer of Princeton, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 27, 2024 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Vernon Brown and Mattie Irene Hinnant Brown; her husbands, Walter Barnes (Skeet) and Martin Brewer; her daughter Susan Barnes Smith; and her son-in-law Jerry Beasley.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Barnes (Margie) of Virginia Beach, Darlene Barnes Norris (Garry) of Princeton and Betsy Barnes Beasley of Princeton; her grandchildren, Jim Barnes II, Tammy Tyson, Jeff Daughtry, Alan Barnes, Jennifer McLeod, David Smith, Toni Larsen, Shawn Barnes and Zach Beasley; her stepchildren, Sylvia Brewer Scholl, Harold Brewer, Darrel Brewer and Keith Brewer; and her siblings, Leroy Brown, Alice Benson and Rita Norris. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Selma Memorial Gardens (Selma, NC 27576).
