He was predeceased by: his spouse Phyllis Martin Conwell; and his brother Floyd Milton Conwell Jr.. He is survived by: his son-in-law Theresa Freeman; his daughters, Theresa Conwell Freeman (Thomas) of Goldsboro and Cherryl Conwell Phipps (Buddy) of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Nisia Broadie, Kristen Freeman Evans (Brad) and Erica Renee Freeman; his great grandchildren, Maddox Strickland and Lincoln Strickland; and also Tom Freeman.
