He was predeceased by: his mother Pearlene Thornton; and his stepmother Barbara Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Radford Thornton; his father Carl Lee Thornton Sr.; his children, Brandon Thornton of Pine, Jamie Briscoe (Jessica) of Selma and Terrie Boyette (Brent) of Kenly; his sister Renee Perry (Connie) of Princeton; his grandchildren, Fisher Lee Boyette and Aiden Briscoe; his sister-in-law Lisa Pittman Radford; his nieces, Ashley Hinnant and Christy Radford; and his nephew Christopher Perry.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Princeton Baptist Church at 211 S. Pearl Street, Princeton, NC 27569.
