He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sydney and Irene Hartley Godwin; and his sister Alma Irene Martin. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Godwin; his children, Michael Godwin (Donetta) of Greenville, Matthew Godwin (Jenny) of Goldsboro and Amber Godwin Capps (Eric) of Grantham; his sisters, Pat Hatem, LaRose Jackson (Billy) of Grantham and Debbie Moore (Craig) of Princeton; and his grandchildren, Tanner, Chase Capps, Stella, Canon Godwin, Ashlyn and Myles Godwin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends and his beloved beagles.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Howell Funeral Home & Crematory (1500 Wayne Memorial Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27534).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100.
