He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Alton and Lavina Elizabeth Gower; and his brothers, Wilton Gower, Elbert Gower and Gordon Gower.
He is survived by: his wife Margarette Edwards Gower; his sons, Alton Ray Gower Jr. (Kathy) of Dunn and Ronald Owen Gower (Donna) of Gastonia; his siblings, Jimmy Gower, Grace Daughtry, Linda Dixon, Kathy Stewart and Diane Creech; his granddaughters, Hope Tyndall (Brandon), Morgan Weber (Chip), Georganna Gaines (Calvin), Haley Vradenburgh (Ryan) and Paige Gower; and his great grandchildren, Gavin, Asher Tyndall, Knox, Cade Weber, Will and Connor Vradenburgh Mr.
