It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rebecca Edwards Carter (Powellsville, North Carolina), born in Franklin, Virginia, who passed away on November 4, 2018, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ryland Thomas and Josie Rebecca Vaughan Edwards; her grandson Carter Stephenson; and her siblings, Robert, Vaughan and Ellen.
She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Stephenson (Kent) of Franklin, Virginia Carter and Ernie Carter (Gail) of Powellsville; her grandchildren, Rebecca Stephenson Harper (Witt) of Franklin, Hinton Carter of Chapel Hill, Mollie Carter of Raleigh and Will Carter of Wilmington; and her siblings, Gaynelle Riddick, Frankie Edwards (Sandra) of Franklin, Lucille Carter of Raleigh and Lena Giles (George) of Morristown, TN.
