It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Sybil Harriett (Pollocksville, North Carolina), who passed away at the age of 96, on March 11, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Dixon and Hilda Cox Dixon; her husband Thomas Allen Harriett; her siblings, Loyd Dixon, Jean Boykin and Leona Heath; and her grandson Jamie Bender.

She is survived by: her children, Hilda Harriett Bender (Jimmy) and Allen Thomas Harriett (Donnal); her granddaughters, Beth Meadows (Chris), Sara Guion (Travis), Cresta Parks (Robert), Katherine Pope (Scott), Michelle Ray (Russell) and Sheri O'dell (Jay); and her brother Kincheon Dixon (Ann) of Kinston. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Pollocksville Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a. m. Masks and social distancing will be required.

“Hilda, Allen, and Mitch, We just wanted to let you know how much we share your grief in the loss of your Mom. “Aunt Sybil” was a special person in my life since I was old enough to remember trips to Pollocksville. Nothing but fond memories and a friendly household. She was so gracious and loving whenever we visited. You were blessed to have her as long as you did. Take comfort in knowing she is now of clear mind and enjoying all that eternal life has to offer. Tommy and Carol Jones”
