He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ward and Sarah Long Ward; his wife Annie Sarah Eves; and his son Lynn J. Ward. He is survived by: his sons, Frank D. Ward Jr. (Linda) of Kinston and Stephen D. Ward (Sheila) of Trenton; his grandchildren, Tangie Maples (Anthony), Tammie Coombs (Alan), Frank Ward III (Amber), Andrew Ward, Stephen Ward Jr. and Jordan Smith; and his brother Bill Ward (Susan) of Elizabeth City. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
