He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Cleve Bennett and Effie Olivia Jones Bennett; and his siblings, Ethel B. Williams, Kathleen B. Peele, Jean B. Bridges, Fred Bennett, Arthur Bennett, Howard Bennett and Noah Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Nina Faye Latham Bennett of Plymouth, N. C.; his children, Raymond Douglas Bennett, II (Cynthia) of Pinetown, N. C., Elaine Bennett Howard of Williamston, N. C., Judith Bennett Gurganus (Danny) of Jamesville, N. C. and Brenda Bennett Plumblee (Terry) of Shawboro, N. C.; his sister Lena B. Hungate of Greenville, N. C.; and his grandchildren, Olivia Matthews, Hunter Gurganus, Shelby Howard, Haven Howard, Jessi Simpson and Jonah Bennett.
