It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melrose Styons Waters of Plymouth, North Carolina, born in Washington, North Carolina, who passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Lewis Staten; her husband Carl Jackson Waters; her son Kenneth Wayne Waters; her children-in-law, Donna T. Waters and Eddie Arrants; and her siblings, Lewis Styons, Jr., William Styons, Marion Styons, Nick Styons, Phillip Styons, Helen Miller and Margaret Lynn.

She is survived by: her children, Carl J. Waters Jr. (Betty) of Parktown, MD, Geary Waters (Terry) of Plymouth, Charles Waters (Michele) of Plymouth, Randy Waters of Fuquay Varina, Susan W. Arrants of Beaufort, NC and Jacquelyn W. Adams (Wade) of Jamesville; her daughter-in-law Linda Waters of Plymouth; and her siblings, Raymond Earl Styons (Carlene) of Winston Salem and Pat Lynn of Plymouth. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
