We are sad to announce that on August 16, 2023, at the age of 100, Maggie Len (Rook) Harding (Pleasant Hill, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Gilbert Lee; her son Kenneth Carnell; and her siblings, Bailey, Ned, Joe Nathan, Jesse, Alice, Mary and Susie.
She is survived by: her children, Earl Randolph of Pleasant Hill, NC, Debra Dianne (Paul) of Rocky Mount, NC and Girlie Hammond of Pleasant Hill, NC; her goddaughters, Shirley Burgess of Baltimore, MD, Rebecca Paulette Whyte of Rocky Mount, NC and Keara Perry of Willow Springs, NC; her brother Rook of Garysburg, NC; her siblings-in-law, Dorothy Payne of Bronx, NY, Ruth Thornhill of Richmond, VA, Earnest Harding of Hampton, VA and Dilbert Blackman of Charlotte, NC; her daughter-in-law Bernice Harding of Weldon, NC; and her grandchildren, Felecia Sykes (Joseph), Mechelle Daniels, Sundi Johnson Moore (Damien), Alicia Lashley, Reginald Watson, Rhonda Haywood (Maurice), Janita Hunter (Montreal) and Racheal Baker (Brian). She is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a host of relatives and friends.
When the pandemic hit, like many of us, she pivoted and learned to enjoy service via social media and Bible Study via the conference call line.
