He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelly "Buster" and Edna Townsend; his brother William Lee Townsend; and his children, Carol, Wes, Jr. and Ronald.

He is survived by: his wife Faye Townsend; his daughter Tammy Stewart (Tate); his grandchildren, Johnathan Hill (Sierra), Matthew Griffin, Lauren Lewis (Danny), Cody Stewart, Taylor Townsend and Garrett Townsend; his great grandchild Ryan; his brothers, Aaron, Zachary Lewis and Wesley Hill; and his sister-in-law Judy Townsend.
