She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Lee and Helen Harris Oakley; her husband William K. Thompson; her brother Grady Wayne Oakley; her brother-in-law James Gantt; and her great-nephew Nate.
She is survived by: her sister Brenda Gantt; her nieces and nephews, Kim Lackey, Scott Lackey, Erin Jackson, Josh Oakley and Katie Perry; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Ethan Creech, Carson Creech, Morgan Bianco, Grady Lee Oakley, Carolina Oakley, Avonlea Oakley, Cade Oakley and Beckett Jackson; and also Della Dawn Creech.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM and on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Chapel (1118 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27401). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Lakeview Memorial Park (3600 N O. Henry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405).
