He was predeceased by: his parents, William Fletcher Manson and Emma Tela Hodgin Manson; his wife Betty Jean French; his brother William "Bill" Yates Manson; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Scott Manson and Luther "Luke" Graham French Jr.; and his cousins, John "Jack" Hodgin, Sally Jean Pickett, Barbara Jo Hodgin, Joseph Phal Hodgin Jr., Jonaleen Hodgin, Julia Blair Hodgin, John Fox, George Fox and Martha Harris Manson Plowden.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Kathleen Holland French; his daughters, Karrie Jo Manson and Martie Lee Manson Shytle; his son-in-law Carl Shytle; his grandchildren, Anna Julia Opaleski, John Joseph "Joe" Opaleski (Amanda Schofield), Emma Kathleen Prescott and Lindsay Erin Shytle; his sister-in-law Mary Henrie Arthur French; his extended family Gail Dee Hunter Hodgin; and his caregiver Shanetra Whitney Slade.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 1st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hodgin Valley Farm (561 Hodgin Valley Rd, Pleasant Garden, NC 27313).
