He was predeceased by: his siblings, Edward "Spud" Herndon and Helen O'Neil. He is survived by: his wife Sara Cheek Herndon; his siblings, Bobby Herndon (Alma), Margie Ward (Bill) and Don Herndon (Judy); his son Terry Herndon (Carole); his grandsons, Gregory Herndon and Kevin Herndon (Lexi); and his great grandchild Laurel Herndon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
