He is survived by: his parent Dovie Jane Cooper Richardson; his children, Judy Mae Whitaker (Vernon) of Climax, Johnny Mack DeSota (Krisite) of Climax and Jane Bridges (Bill) of Asheboro; and his grandchildren, Jessica Whitaker Suits, Douglas Keith Whitaker, Erica DeSota Mena, Patrick Odell DeSota, Erin Bridges Forsythe, Matthew Bridges and David Bridges.
