He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul L. Elkins and Lilly Noell Elkins; his wife Alice Whitaker Elkins; his brother Paul Edwin Elkins; and his half-siblings, Pauline E. Belfour, Lindon Elkins, Clarence Elkins, Harold Elkins and Woodrow Elkins.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon E. Gregory (Glenn) of Lillington and William Clyde Elkins, Jr. of Pittsboro; and his siblings, Pearl E. Brown, Ruth E. Brewer, Glynn Elkins (Judy) and Franklin D. Elkins. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
