She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbert Hardee and Wilma Hardee; and her brother Jim Hardee. She is survived by: her husband John Britt; her children, David "Zeke" Sparrow, Jr. of Pittsboro, NC, Melanie Lester (Robert) of Pittsboro and Monica Dixon of High; her grandchildren, Chelsea Langemann (Jamie), Ashley Dixon, Megan Green and Alexandria; and her sisters, Gail Hardee of Chapel Hill, NC and Sunnee Hallman (Benny) of Chapel Hill, NC..
