With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laura Whitaker of Pittsboro, North Carolina, born in Moncure, North Carolina, who passed away on January 13, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, David Guinn and Myrtle Burns Guinn. She is survived by: her husband Charles E Whitaker; her daughters, Lorianne Anderson (Chad) of Pittsboro and Lisa Braxton (Michael) of Pittsboro; her siblings, Edith Carter of Sanford, Linda O'Neil of Lamar and David Quinn (Claudette) of Lamar; her granddaughter Ashley Thomas (Will) of Pittsboro; and her great grandchildren, Evelyn, Gracelyn and Cayden. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made in Laura's memory to the Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice House at UNC Health Foundation ATTN: Tina 123 W. Franklin Street Chapel Hill, NC 27516 and on memo line indicate Hospice House.
