It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katharine Jones Ogburn (Pittsboro, North Carolina), who passed away on September 5, 2018, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her sister Frances Jones Jackson of El Centro, CA.. She is survived by: her spouse Gene Winton Ogburn; her brother Cary Benjamin Jones (Ben) of Pittsboro, NC; her daughters, Carol Jean Ogburn of Richmond, VA, Katharine Irene Ogburn (Kit), Elizabeth Ogburn Nelson (Betty) of Burnsville, NC and Cynthia Ogburn Donnelly (Cindy); her great-grandparent Aubrey; her nieces and nephews, Susan Jones, Mary Linda West, Janet Bell, Elisabeth Thornton, Cal Ogburn and Jim Riley; and also, Debra Campbell West (Debbie) of Durham, NC, Susanne Nelson Korta (Chris) of Tallahassee, FL, Carrie Nelson Johnson (Ben) of Fairview, NC, Maria Nelson Simcox (Ethan) of Morganton, NC, Meghan Brooke Sanders of Lander, WY, Leslie Donnelly Lorbacher (Scott) of Apex, NC, Warren Lewis Donnelly of Medellín, Olivia Korta, Sophie Korta of Tallahassee, FL, Stella Johnson of Fairview, NC and Ida Simcox of Morganton, NC.. She is also survived by six granddaughters, a grandson, and four great- granddaughters.
