It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gladys Thomas of Pittsboro, North Carolina, born in Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on February 17, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Hackney and Katie Hackney; her husband Julian Thomas; her son Douglas Thomas; her grandson Jacob Cotten; her great grandchildren, Evie and Lennox Tibbitt; and her brother Walter S. Hackney.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Justice of Greenville, NC, Rusty Thomas, Jane Tibbitt of Greenville, NC and Janet Perry of Snow Camp, NC; and her grandchildren, Donna, Aimee, Frank, Jr., Natalie, Shari, Emily, Kimberly and BJ. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
