With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Coley Alexander Headen of Pittsboro, North Carolina, who passed away on August 22, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie "Bane" Rieves Headen and Coley Headen Jr.; his siblings, Fabbie Ann Headen, Demetris Headen, Lillie Oneita Headen and Willie Harold Headen; his aunts, Willie Mae Tysor of Sanford, NC and Maude Alston of Gulf, NC; his close friend Betty Smith; and also Rhonda Smith.
He is survived by: his former wife Verna Faye Headen; his children, Coley Bernarde Headen (Tammie) of Manasses, VA and Regina Denise Muhammad (Reginald) of Durham, NC.; his grandchildren, Latoya (Kodi), Ketina, Ayesha, Nykesha, Abdullah, Fatimah, Kamilah and Aliyah; his great grandchildren, Dominic and Olivia; his sisters, Shirley Headen of Bowie, MD and Vanessa Headen Gales of Gulf, NC; his son Jeremie Smith of Newton, NC; his granddaughter Willissa Smith of Pittsboro, NC; and his brother Valentino Belton of Durham, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Up to his departure from this worldly life, Coley was a silent contributor and consistently gave financial donations to various churches in different communities.
