He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernis Homer Butler and Annie Lee Perkins Butler; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Rachel Partin and Charles Franklin Partin; and his brothers, Ernest Homer Butler, William "Bill" A. Butler, Jameson Grannis "Grant" Butler and Robert "Bobby" Horace Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Bailey Butler; and his daughter Laura Butler Partin (Frank) of Pittsboro.
