With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carolyn Lumpkins of Pittsboro, North Carolina, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on November 9, 2021 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Owens and Ernestine Garrett Owens; her former husband Charles Blackwell; and her husband James Lumpkins. She is survived by: her children, Charles Anthony Blackwell (Colette), Sharilyn Blackwell and Leticia Renee Lumpkins; her grandchildren, Derck Blackwell, Brittany Tinnen, Ashley Appiah, Brandon Blackwell, Chali Blackwell and Tamia Blackwell; her great grandchild Naadiya Blackwell; her sisters, Myra Queen (Albert), Gloria Gross and Linda Lilly (Delandis); her uncle Arnold Allen (Doretha); and her close friend Charles Thaxton of Durham. She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
