He was predeceased by: his parents, Claudus Taylor and Bunia Whitner Taylor; his siblings, Johnny, Leonard Taylor, Gracie Ayers and Sue Beddingfield; his former wife Clara Copler Taylor; and his stepson Joe Atlas Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Barrett Taylor; his siblings, Howard Taylor (Joyce) of Durham, NC, Mildred T. Jones of Creedmoor, NC and Mary T. Hillard of Myrtle Beach, SC; and also Scott LeRoy (Julie) of Tampa, FL.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
