He is survived by: his spouse Opal Denton; his son John Lamar Buchanan (Candace) of Greenville, SC; his grandchildren, Thomas Buchanan (Christy) of Greer, SC and Laura Elizabeth Buchanan of Greer; and his great grandchildren, Emily, John Mitchell and Olivia. He is also survived by his father, mother, wife.
