It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dovie Coan (Pisgah Forest, North Carolina), born in Rosman, North Carolina, who passed away on November 18, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Marcus White and Buna Elma Sloan White; and her siblings, Earl White, Amy Neal and Edna White.
She is survived by: her husband Gil Coan; her sons, Gil Coan, Jr. (Faye) and Kevin Coan (Gina) of Brevard; her grandchildren, Amy Templeton (Jay), Jay Coan (Nora), Casey Coan, Katie Thompson and Tyler Coan (Mercedes); and her great grandchildren, Hannon Templeton, Laney Templeton, Carter Coan, Carson Coan, Braylon Thompson, Mason Thompson, Charlotte Coan and Claire Coan. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Dovie's love of children and music, the family suggests memorial gifts to the WCP Playground Fund or the Children's Music Ministry at the First United Methodist Church of Brevard, 325 N. Broad Street, Brevard, NC, 28172.
