He was predeceased by: his sons, John Garfield and Christopher Mark; his grandson Duane Jeffrey "Jeff"; his children-in-law, Sheila Ann Harwood Roe and Richard Dahl Bazley; his siblings, Anna "Rosa" Rozella, Victoria Phoebe Roe Rio, John Marvin Roe, Jack Isaac Chapman, Harvey Frank Lavender, Samuel Rio, Fred Hawkins and Carlos "Puddy" Turner; and his sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Burnett and Virginia Ann Adams.
He is survived by: his spouse Jessie Gwendolyn Chapman Roe; his children, Charles Gwinn (Michelle) of Costa Mesa, CA, Thomas Scott Roe of Pisgah Forest and Billie Pamelia Roe Moss; his sister Nancy Ellen Roe Turner of Cookeville, TN; and his sister-in-law Billie Mae Chapman Lavender. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
