It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Annie Ellen Dillard of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, born in Webster, North Carolina, who passed away on September 2, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Gilbert Dillard; her parents, William Tyler Buchanan and Rhoda Green Buchanan; her daughter Carmen Anita Pangle; her sister Wilma Buchanan Austin; and her stepson Terry Dillard.
She is survived by: her sons, Marvin Pangle (Karen), Alan Pangle (Nita), Ivan Pangle (Norma) and Chris Pangle (Terri); her stepchildren, Dianne Cabe (Steve), Timothy Dillard (Donna), Michael "Mick" Dillard (Teresa) and Cathy Dillard Galloway; and her siblings, Grace Buchanan Dettmar, Ruth Buchanan of Webster and William "Bud" Buchanan (Erma) of Mills River. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
