He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Nathanial Dezern and Ola Mozella Vaughn Dezern. He is survived by: his spouse Diane Heath Dezern; his son Sean Dezern (Amanda); his sister Faye Marshall (Glenn); his grandchildren, Jon Austin Dezern and Janson Dezern; his stepgrandchildren, Brady Anderson and Walker Bowman; his niece Cindy Talley (Ryan); his nephew Tim Marshall; and his great-nieces, Holly Wilson, Megan Wilson and Kayla Marshall.
The Mount Airy VFW Post 2019 and the Pilot Mountain VFW Post 9436 will provide full Military Honors In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, Back Pack Program at Shoals Elementary School, and Pilot View United Methodist Church Cemetery fund.
