She was predeceased by: her parents, Barnit Talmage and Sarah Ellen Rachel Moorefield; her husband Valinda "Jack" Smith; and her granddaughter Lisa Hood. She is survived by: her children, Sherry Robin Robertson (Gary), James Warner and Jeff Smith (Kathy); and her grandchildren, Jamie Warner, Amy Armstrong, Paul Robertson (Alicia), Kala Stahl (Gabe), Dana Thompson (Ben), Melissa Gentry (Brandon) and Sarah Williams (Daniel). She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cox-Needham Funeral Home (822 W Main St, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
