He was predeceased by: his parents, Vester Hicks and Ollie Belle Hiatt Hicks; his grandson Austin Hicks; and his siblings, Roberta Bowman, Ronnie Hicks, Lewis Hicks and Wade Hicks.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Creed Hicks; his children, Pamela Hicks, Kimberly Jessup, Michael Hicks, Daryl (Yolanda Hicks), B. J. (Penny Hicks) and Randall Hicks; and his pet Brody. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion.
