He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gibson and Ethel Gibson. He is survived by: his sister Judy Marshall (Edward) of Walnut Cove; his children, Sandy Jones (Gerald) of Pinnacle, Joe Gibson (Christine) of Hattiesburg, MS, Michael Gibson of Walnut Cove and Sean Gibson (Betty Watts) of Raleigh, NC; and his grandchildren, Jared (Ashley), Samuel Jones (Brandi), Lucas Jones (Breanna), Samantha Gibson, Larry Gibson, Nick Gibson and Jenna Gibson.
