He was predeceased by: his grandchild Jeremy Spainhour; and his siblings, Norman Temple of David Temple, R. J, Willis Temple, Mack Temple, Bill Temple and Dela Wagoner.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Pugh Temple; his grandchildren, Ally Hanson, Delia Hanson and Graham Temple; his sister Shirley Temple Hoyle (Bob) of Winston-Salem; his children, Teresa Thompson (Steve) of Ayden, Kelly Wagoner (Todd) of Kissimmee, Sandy Shank (Greg) of Cary, Donna Temple of Asheville and Bruce Temple of Jonesville; and his grandchildren, Paul Shank, Jillian Davis (Staton) and Jesse Spainhour. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
