James Carter Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Carter (Pineville, North Carolina), who passed away on July 31, 2019, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Carter and Anna Carter; his sister Martha Levell; and his nephew Buddy Levell. He is survived by: his wife Doris Carter; his children, Julie Shouse (Gary) and Scott Carter (Angela); his grandchildren, Matt Carter, Ryan Carter and Elizabeth Carter; and his niece Ann Junod.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association and St. Jude Research.

“Jim Carter just the name makes me smile. I have known him and Doris for close to 60 years. We were neighbors for the most part my entire life at home. His sense of humor drove me bananas some time but he was a class act. He was one of my heros, a guy you could just stand out in the yard and talk. He always had time. I love and will miss you Jim. I am so blessed to have been able to call him friend but he was much more, he was and will always be a part of me. Goodbye friend see you soon.”
