He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Grover Barnes and Elizabeth Cynthia Sims Barnes; his former wife Sabra Helen Ash Barnes; and his brother Colonel Jack Barnes. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Campbell; his son Joe; his daughter-in-law Donna; his stepchildren, Chip, Greg Campbell and Renee Wiles; his grandson Isaiah Mealor; and his nieces, Betsy Deak and Sandra Barnes. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
