It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Rountree Staton (Pinetops, North Carolina), who passed away on May 22, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Rountree Sr. and Elizabeth Batts Rountree; and her siblings, Willie Rountree, Herbert Rountree, Jr., Roland Rountree, James Rountree, Floyd Rountree, Marvin Rountree, Daisy Rountree Barnes and Doris Rountree Farrington.
She is survived by: her husband Tommie Lee Staton; her daughter Letechia Wilson; her granddaughters, Brandeis Williams of Pikeville and Jamei Williams of Wilson; her brother Jesse Rountree (Inez) of Elm City; her siblings-in-law, Gladys Staton of Pinetops, Annie Mae Ellis of Pinetops, Catherine Wooton of Lisbon, Leah Staton Vines of Pinetops, Lucille Rountree of Wilson, Betty Rountree of Rocky Mount and James Staton (Cynthia) of Baltimore, Maryland; and her niece Jeanette Atkinson (Cookie). She is also survived by nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
